Grundfos

Grundfos partnered with Processand and Celonis to enhance its Warehouse Management processes, gaining full end-to-end transparency and uncovering performance bottlenecks across global operations.

These processes are supported by SAP Warehouse Management (WM) and its successor, SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), two systems designed to manage and optimize warehouse activities such as goods receipt, storage, picking, and shipping. By jointly analyzing and aligning these processes across WM and EWM, the teams are set to accelerate Grundfos’ global EWM migration, strengthen process consistency, and improve visibility throughout the warehouse network.

The Challenge

Grundfos operates multiple SAP Warehouse Management (WM) and SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) systems across its global network, each providing limited visibility into real performance and process deviations. Differences in process execution and data structures make it difficult to benchmark plants or identify bottlenecks, resulting in inefficiencies, manual investigations, and inconsistent performance reporting.

As SAP WM will soon be discontinued, Grundfos is preparing to migrate additional plants to SAP EWM, the next-generation warehouse management solution. To do so effectively, the company needs a clear understanding of current warehouse performance and how to leverage Celonis to optimize EWM processess, ensuring they run more efficiently and deliver measurable value from the start.

The Goal

The objective of Grundfos and Processand was to create a unified view of all warehouse processes, providing full transparency across inbound and outbound operations. This would enable faster bottleneck identification, promote process standardization, and support the company’s EWM migration strategy.
