Tell us about yourself

My name is Valentina and originally, I am from the northern part of bella Italia. I joined Processand as a HR Manager in April 2022 and I am responsible for talent acquisition, development, and expansion of our HR department. In doing so, I have set myself the goal of wanting to make the working world and our everyday life at Processand better. Besides my job at Processand, I'm a mom to two wonderful yet wild kids and when there's some me time left for myself, you can find me on my yoga mat or somewhere in the nature.

How does your typical day look like?

Every day basically starts more stressful than I would actually like it to be. Nevertheless, I always manage to get my kids to kindergarten on time and then I like to take the time to prepare for my day on my yoga mat with a big cup of lemon ginger water. As soon as I'm ready to start with my to do list, the first thing I do is check my emails and respond to any urgent messages and requests. Around 10 I usually have scheduled meetings with other managers and team leaders to discuss company policies, employee relations, and upcoming projects. I usually spend two to three days a week interviewing new potential team members. When the workday is starting to wind down, I always take some time to catch up on administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork, updating employee files, and responding to emails.

What strategies do you employ to create a supportive and inclusive work environment at Processand?

What do you like the most about your HR Manager role?

Oh, I like a lot about my job as a HR Manager, it would be hard to list it all. Mostly I enjoy the diversity and complexity of my role, which allows me to interact with different people with fascinating characteristics, as well as having to handle a variety of internal tasks. I also find it very rewarding to help employees resolve work-related issues and to facilitate positive relationships between employees and our organization. I enjoy being able to contribute to the growth and success of the company by developing and implementing HR policies and strategies. Ultimately, as mentioned above, what I like most is that I can shape the work environment and everyday life at Processand, so everyone would feel like they are included and treated with respect.

Which qualities do you pay most attention to when you are interviewing candidates?

The most important quality I think is personal fit. It doesn't help if someone has a lot of expertise but doesn’t match well with the team. In the long run, it doesn't help anyone, neither the team nor the applicant, if you hire someone and eventually, they feel like they are not a proper fit for the team. 

At Processand, we focus on people and their values. People tend to thrive in an environment that corresponds to their values and views. For this reason, we also pay close attention during our recruiting process to whether the candidate brings emotional intelligence. We love candidates who are self-aware, empathetic, and able to manage their emotions effectively. 

Communication skills are incredibly important. Good and appropriate communication is not only important when dealing with customers, but also within the team. A clear, open, and honest way of communication is essential for long-term success and a harmonious team spirit.
